BC Felions Calendar Design

CHALLENGE

While working at the BC Lions, I was tasked to design the annual Felions Dance Team calendar, which features the team’s cheerleaders. These calendars are sold during games and are purchased by fans of all ages. We wanted to stray away from the typical “sexy” calendar and focus more on fitness, lifestyle, and athleticism. The calendar also needed to look clean while still showcasing the game information and special dates.

SOLUTION

We chose different notable locations around British Columbia as a setting for the photos, and asked the dance team members to pose in highly kinetic “action shots.” These photos were paired up with the calendar design I created, which was very minimal as to not pull focus from the photos. The minimal design also provides space for the user to write down notes of their own.
